It’s always nice to have some good news.
Just over three months ago, our Rescue Team picked up a seal with horrible neck injuries that had been caused by a rope digging into its flesh. The injuries were so bad that the team immediately rushed the seal to RSPCA East Winch Wildlife Centre for urgent treatment. Nicknamed ‘Lavash’, it’s since been diligently nursed back to health and was finally set free again.
Although this particular seal will always bear the scars around its neck, it’s been very lucky to have been rescued and to then receive so much expert care from the staff at the RSPCA Wildlife Centre. However, it is very sad that we are seeing a marked increase in the number of seals turning up entangled in ocean rubbish.
