Sadly, our Rescue Team is seeing an increasing number of seals turning up entangled in our waste. This poor seal turned up on Horsey beach with a nylon cord tightly wound around its neck, cutting into its flesh. Fortunately, our team members were able to catch it and cut the cord off. Although it was quite bloody and looked awful once it was cleaned up, the injury turned out not to be as severe as first feared. The seal was feisty and full of energy and after a little basic treatment, the seal was released again and is expected to make a full recovery. Well done everyone.
